How to set encoder and resolution settings when streaming RTMP

Every social platform recommends different settings. When streaming to multiple platforms, it is recommended to choose settings according to the most limited platform.

The parameters below are the optimal parameters per platform for an average home usage scenario:

General settings for all platforms:

Video Codec:           H264, Profile: high
Rate Control:            CBR
Keyframe Interval:    2 seconds
Audio Codec:           AAC
Audio Bitrate:           128 Kbps

YouTube:

Resolution:        1280x720
Video Bitrate:    3500 Kbps
Frame Rate:       30

Instagram:

Resolution:        608x1080 / 720x1280 (portrait only, 9:16)
Video Bitrate:    3500 Kbps

Twitter / Periscope:
